The late VALORANT player Lance “Finest” Arcilla made for one of the biggest memes in Riot Games’ first person shooter. In the game, his memory remains.

Either he just didn’t know any better at the time or had a very good joke in store. Lance “Finest” Arcilla seemed to be of the firm belief that VALORANT agent Jett could revive his character. “Revive me, Jett! Revive me!” the Filipino shouted several times in a solo match, inventing arguably the greatest meme of the first-person shooter.

Lance Arcilla has passed away at the age of 21. This was announced by his mother Leny Arcilla on Facebook on 10 April. Backgrounds to his sudden death are unknown. However, he will remain immortal in the VALORANT community. Numerous players and organisations have already paid their respects to the young man. “I will never forget this legend,” writes Youtube user “Ricey”, among others.

The exclamation “Revive me, Jett!” has brought a smile to the VALORANT scene. Because although Finest kept insisting that Jett revive him, it was clear that wasn’t going to happen. For Jett has never been able to call another agent back to life. At this point, only Sage could do this with her Ultimate.

VALORANT developer Riot Games has erected a monument in the game to Lance Arcilla, who was known as “Finest”. In the Battle Pass of Episode 4 Act III, his in-game name is available as a pendant and can thus be carried by anyone in matches since Wednesday. Already in Episode 2 Act II, a spray with “Revive me, Jett” was added to the Battle Pass.

In June 2020, VALORANT celebrated its official release. Less than a month later, the video was recorded by Finest, which has gone down in the young history of the game as “Revive me, Jett!”
