Over the weekend, Square Enix celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Kingdom Hearts series. In the course of a big stream, they announced the long-awaited sequel Kingdom Hearts IV. We show you the Reveal-Trailer.

In the autumn of 2002, Kingdom Hearts was released for the PlayStation 2. Since then, a lot has happened in the story about Sora and his friends. Not only has the plot developed further and further. The technology has also made tremendous progress over the years. This is now noticeable in the new trailer for Kingdom Hearts IV.

In the trailer of Kingdom Hearts IV, the hero Sora wakes up in an urban world, far away from his friends Donald and Goofy, who are already looking for him. But under protagonist seems not to be the only stowaway in Quadratum. A girl has also travelled from her home world to it. Whether this happened of her own free will, we do not yet know. Suddenly, a shadowy monster appears out of nowhere and begins to destroy the city. Of course, Sora immediately takes action and provides us with some exciting gameplay scenes.

Kingdom Hearts IV, together with the also announced mobile game Kingdom Hearts Missing-Link, belongs to the new story arc called Lost Master Arc. In this new story, we learn what happened after Kingdom Hearts III so put together missing pieces of the puzzle.

As Kingdom Hearts IV is still in development, there is no confirmed release date or indication of available platforms yet. We will keep you updated on this. Some parts of the KH series have recently been released for the Switch via Cloud Gaming. We’ll tell you which ones they are here.
