New adventures for FINAL FANTASY XIV coming with Patch 6.1 from mid-April

In the meantime, FINAL FANTASY XIV has overtaken the forefather of MMORPGs World of Warcraft in terms of popularity and also player numbers. Reason, the amount of content that regularly provides additional attraction and occupation every few months. Now the next big content update with Patch 6.1 for FINAL FANTASY XIV Online has been announced.

A lot to do with FINAL FANTASY XIV Patch 6.1

Patch 6.1, which is scheduled for release in mid-April for FINAL FANTASY XIV, is the first major content update since the critically acclaimed expansion pack FINAL FANTASY XIV: Endwalker concluded the story of Hydaelyn and Zodiark.

Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida announced the latest information on a wealth of new content fans can look forward to as part of the 6.1 patch series, including:

  • New Main Scenario Orders – Patch 6.1 opens a new chapter for Warriors of Light.
  • “Tataru’s Grand Enterprise” – The spotlight falls on Tataru in this new side quest series. This story begins in patch 6.1 and will continue through patch 6.5.
  • New Role Orders – Another story will be playable after the completion of all role orders from Endwalker.
  • PvP Updates – A new PvP content called “Crystalline Conflict”, customization of PvP commands and a new reward system will be implemented.
  • New residential area – Plots in the Empyreum, the new Ishgarder residential area, will be offered for sale.
  • Travel Codex – A new glossary of characters and terms can be unlocked during the main scenario of 6.1. The entries will not be available immediately, but will be unlocked as the story progresses.
  • New Dungeon – More information will be announced at a later date.
  • New Exam – Eschatos – Final Singer
  • New Dream Test – Hero Song of Ultima
  • New Alliance Raid Series – “Myths of Eorzea” Part 1
  • Other Updates – More content will be added, including job customizations, New Game+ for Endwalkers and part of 6.1, new hairstyles for Hrothgar, additional projection plates, the ability to try on items from the FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Store, and more.

More details have also been revealed about A Realm Reborn’s main scenario overhaul. Among other things, a new content helper based on the existing “side-by-side” system will be made available for A Realm Reborn (2.0) in patch 6.1. With the help of this system, it will be possible to complete all four-player dungeons of the main scenario together with NPCs. The content helper will also be expanded in future updates to support content from Patch 2.x, the Heavensward expansion, and more advanced content.

Upcoming updates in Patch 6.1 include:

  • New fatal heavy content – A new challenge, “Dragon War (fatal)”, makes its way into patch 6.11.
  • Sidequests – Several new sidequests are introduced, including more “Hildibrand’s Falls” in Patch 6.15 and “Omega: Beyond the Rift” as part of the Patch 6.1x series.
  • New Tribal Assignments – Beginning with Patch 6.15, players* will be able to tackle new Assignments from the Arkasodara tribe, available for combat classes and jobs of all types.
  • New Wish Supplies – Ameliance Leveilleur’s Wish Supplies will be added with Patch 6.15.
  • Travel between Data Centres – Travel between Data Centres is expected to allow players to travel between worlds of different logical Data Centres within the same physical Data Centre from patch 6.18 onwards.
