The Fortnite Championship Series (FNCS) kicks off again on 17 February. This time, however, the format has been changed a little bit.

The Fortnite esport continues in 2022. On February 17, this year’s Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) kicks off from Chapter 3.

FNCS of Chapter 3

As with the last competition, there will again be two qualifiers this time. This will be followed by semi-finals and finals. The qualifiers will take place on 17-18 February and 19-20 February. Compared to last year, however, more teams can now qualify directly for the final in the duo format. Thus, the best eight teams will advance to the final. In addition, there are 3,008,500 dollars in the prize pool this year, of which 1,362,500 dollars will be allocated to the EU region.

The semi-finals will be held from 24 to 27 February. Fortnite now also wants to put more emphasis on an epic victory here, which is why all teams that win a match will move on to the final. In addition, the six teams with the most consistent performance will also advance.

The finals will then follow on 5-6 March, where the match ball system will now be introduced. Thus, a team can already win with 3 epic victories and 500 points and end the final early. If this does not succeed within 12 games, the team with the most points wins again.

FNCS Community Cup

If you want to get into the Champion Series mood before the final, you can take part in the Community Cup on 28 February. There you can even win the outfit “FNCS Champion K3S1” and the back accessory “Success Symbol”. In total, you can take part in 10 matches there with your duo partner for 3 hours to collect as many points as possible.

The Fortnite Champion Series will therefore change slightly this year, but the basic principle remains the same. However, Fortnite is placing a greater focus on epic victories and wants to offer outstanding teams better opportunities. You can find more information about the Community Cup and the FNCS (here).
