Amazon Games announces that the January update of New World is online as of today. It contains new end-game features as well as new rewards for the community. We summarise these and other features in this article.

The big January update of New World is online today. The biggest features of this update are the new end-game features called expedition mutators. These mutators change the already known enemies that players can encounter during their expeditions. This is to take the missions to a new level of challenge and make them more unpredictable. Each week, expeditions and mutators will change as players fight their way through increasing difficulty levels. To balance this new challenge, there is new equipment and resources to make leveling up easier.

In addition to the new expedition mutators to New World, there are also other features that add extra spice to the January update. These include additional Spirit Shrines, lower costs for fast travel and balancing changes.
The new update also introduces the so-called Shadow Shards. This is a powerful resource that can improve armour levels from 590 to 625. You can find the patch notes on the official website (Website). There you will also find more information about the upcoming changes.
