The tactical hardcore shooter Ready or Not is now available in Early Access on Steam. Here you can read all the information and see the new release trailer.

Let’s save the jokes about a game called Ready or Not coming out in Early Access while it’s still in development. Because Ready or Not is anything but funny! The hardcore shooter ultimately wants to make the everyday life of special police forces playable.

On 18 December 2021, the spiritual successor to the SWAT series was released on (Steam). The price is 36 euros. Those who want to support developer VOID Interactive and equip themselves as an FBI special unit including cosmetic weapon variants can add the hefty 72 euros for the Supporter Edition on top.

Many fans of SWAT 4 and the old Rainbow Six games, in which method and tactics were the trump cards, have been waiting a long time for Ready or Not. After all, it was first announced back in 2017. Most recently, the developers openly admitted that Ready or Not has to be released now in order to be able to continue financing the development.

First players excited

Indeed, the tactical shooter seems to be very well received on Steam: The first 541 reviewers on Steam celebrate Ready or Not with 95 percent positive ratings. Of course, this is only a snapshot on the day of release. The coming weeks and months will show how the customers’ perception will develop. But in view of the first fans, the Early Access release seems to have succeeded for the time being.

In the following, we explain what is to happen now in Early Access. Want to take a look? To go with the release, there is a new trailer that introduces you to the basics of tactical gameplay:

Where do we go from here?

What happens in Early Access? Ready or Not is expected to remain in Early Access for an estimated one year until it is fully developed. During this time, at least five more levels are to be released in addition to the six already available. Players can also expect more modes (such as the PvP mode), new weapons, a finalised user interface and completed localisations.

What is the current state of the game? The developers write on Steam that Ready or Not is in a late alpha and the features are largely complete. The hardcore shooter is also already well optimised and meets the demands of the developers.
