After his club Manchester City had already suspended him, Benjamin Mendy has now also been removed from the football simulation.

Following the rape allegations against Benjamin Mendy, EA Sports has…

removed the French player from FIFA 22 last weekend. His card in FIFA Ultimate Team will henceforth no longer be available to draw in packs. However, those who already have Mendy in their FUT team will be allowed to keep the Manchester City player – according to several players.

Mendy, 27, is accused of four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. The offences allegedly took place between October 2020 and August 2021. One of the victims was a minor. Mendy has been on remand in Liverpool since late August, with a court refusing to release him on bail. Following the allegations, Manchester City had immediately suspended the player.

Mendy’s trial is scheduled to begin on 24 January 2022. His lawyer announced that she would initially seek a dismissal of the case at a hearing on 15 November.
