CS:GO players suspected of match fixing flee to VALORANT

The allegations of match fixing against Counter-Strike players are far-reaching and also affect the VALORANT scene.

The Esports Integrity Commission (ESIC) revealed details to HLTV on Tuesday about the betting fraud investigation into the North American Counter-Strike scene. A total of 35 players are under investigation. As suspected players have moved from Counter-Strike to VALORANT, Riot Games will also apparently be forced to respond if convicted.

The switch of Counter-Strike players to tactical shooter VALORANT initially looked like a clean slate. But now the possible misconduct of the CS players could rock the professional VALORANT scene. The ESIC officer suspects that the accused players switched to VALORANT to escape the focus of the Counter-Strike scene.

The incidents of possible match fixing are said to have occurred primarily in the North American Mountain Dew League (MDL). Affected by the investigation are 35 players who will face suspensions if found guilty.
