On 25 November 2021, there will be a hefty beating as soon as the new beat’em up Asterix & Obelix: Slap Them All! is released for Playstation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. There is no explicit version for Xbox Series X/S and Playstation 5, but the game will be upward compatible. Slap Them All! comes in English, French and German, so fans are free to choose how they want to experience the game based on the comics of their childhood.
The game itself also takes the players to familiar locations from the comics: the heroes Asterix and Obelix fight their way through Gaul, Egypt and even Spain – completely in the usual 2D style, which should capture the look of the original all the more harmoniously. But it’s not just the Romans who get a kicking, pirates, robbers and Normans also get their comeuppance. A local co-op mode is also available for players who don’t want to let Asterix go into battle without Obelix or Obelix without Asterix.
