Our time with Overwatch is gradually coming to an end. To celebrate the past time of the hero shooter, Blizzard is hosting a small party called Anniversary Remix Vol. 3  The event lasts until the end of the month and focuses on one particular element: the lootboxes. These will no longer be part of the game as of September.

Lootboxes – a well-known as well as controversial topic in the gaming world. For six years, the monetisation methods have been part of the hero shooter, for which Blizzard has often been criticised in the past. But now the time of the lootboxes is coming to an end.
With the Overwatch Anniversary Remix Vol. 3  Blizzard is giving its community the last chance to grab these coveted boxes. They can either be earned by playing or purchased. With August30 the lootboxes will finally come to an end.

If you still have unopened Lootboxes from the predecessor until the release of Overwatch 2, you don”t have to worry. According to Blizzard, these will be opened automatically at launch.

The contents of these Lootboxes are made up of items from past anniversary and seasonal events. In addition, various seasonal brawls are returning. The (official blog post) provides you with an overview of all brawls and the playable dates.

On 4 October, Overwatch 2 will be released as a F2P shooter, completely replacing its predecessor.
