Rogue is doing incredibly well at LoL Worlds 2022 right now. We spoke to her ADC comp about the League of Legends tournament.

This year, Worlds 2022 is once again bringing teams from all over the world together to compete against each other. This time, the LEC, the European league, has sent its winner Rogue, among others, to the tournament. Currently, the team is 3-0 in their group and winning over plenty of fans.

Rogue continues winning streak

Markos “Comp” Stamkopoulos is the ADC player of Team Rogue and already convinced in the LEC. Especially in the final many were excited, as the 20-year-old did not die once in the three games and scored a pentakill to boot. With that, he was also able to secure his first Worlds participation.

Once there, the success continues right away as the team is currently 3-0.  “To win at the Worlds is of course very nice. It’s also my first time at the Worlds, so a win is of course the best start to the group stage,” Comp tells us in the interview.

But he himself didn’t expect to make it this far.

A healthy attitude

At the beginning of the summer split, he said, the team had a meeting to share goals. “Everyone was like: I want to win the LEC, I want to make it to Worlds. And I was just like, okay guys, I just want to get to the playoffs and then we’ll see,” the ADC explains with a laugh.

But he has this relaxed attitude in general: “That’s my mindset. I just want to […] approach the whole thing chilled out, one game at a time. Because it’s great to play here anyway. […] And who knows, anything could happen in the end. “

Because of this, he also hasn’t set any specific milestones for his career, “Honestly, when I talk about my goals in my career and what I want to achieve, it’s not really about achievements or anything. For the most part, it’s just that I want to be happy no matter what I do. Since becoming a professional esport athlete, I just want to be happy and proud to have achieved that. “

He doesn’t see certain achievements as that important because, according to him, just like in normal sport, the career is more like a marathon than a sprint. “You don’t have to have the best year of your life on the first try. You just have to show consistency year after year and just be happy with what you’re doing,” Comp justifies his mindset.

This also seems to be working well for him as the ADC continues to prove his tremendous ability in the games. Together with his team, he is thus also at the top of the group. If Rogue continues to be so dominant, they will advance to the Knockout Stage. However, the group stage will continue until 16 October.

Until then, you can watch the matches on the official (Riot Games Twitch channel)
