Evidence is mounting that in GTA 6, Lucia and Jason’s bodies will adapt to your actions.
InGrand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Rockstar introduced the legendary bodybuilding mechanic, in which your character’s body reacts to your activities. For example, if you do a lot of weight training, you’ll slowly develop into a muscle-bound hunk with a six-pack. If you eat kilos of burgers, you’ll end up with a beer belly instead.
However, Rockstar omitted this feature in all subsequent GTA titles. A comparison of two screenshots has convinced countless fans, though, that this will change withGTA 6.
Six-pack and lion’s mane?

Reddit user LickitySplit4 hasposted a thread showing two screenshots from different GTA 6 trailers. Both images feature Jason, one of the two playable characters. It’s striking that Jasonlooks significantly more muscular in the left image than in the right one.
For this user and countless other fans, this suggests, that the character’s physique will be modified as the game progresses. Anyone who has played San Andreas will, of course, immediately recall the popular bodybuilding feature.
On top of that, the hair in the images looks different. Some fans speculate that the hair might also grow over time.
How likely is the return?
It’s highly likely that the bodybuilding feature will return. It was already present in the single-player mode ofRed Dead Redemption 2Rockstar reintroduced the feature. It was also expanded to include natural hair growth, which means you’ll have to get your hair cut and trim your beard regularly (unless you want to look like a forest gnome). The screenshots now support the assumption that Rockstar is sticking with the bodybuilding mechanic.
There’s even another clue thatReddit user sytheticgeneration highlights. For him, the fact that Jason is lifting weights on the beach in the 2025 trailer is a clear indication of the bodybuilding mechanic. He seems certain that Rockstar is showcasing this so prominently because it plays a special role in the game.
We still don’t know whether the bodybuilding feature will actually return, but the clues so far paint a clear picture that gives cause for optimism. The mystery will be revealed no later than November 19, 2026, when Grand Theft Auto 6 is released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Incidentally, San Andreas wasn’t just unique in the GTA series because of its body mechanics. To this day, it’s also the only title in the entire series that’s rated 21+ in the U.S., and the story behind it is truly absurd. You can find the article about it in the link box above.
