Ashes of Singularity was released ten years ago and never quite managed to impress due to its lack of depth. Only technically was it a real eye-catcher. Its successor now aims to impress in terms of gameplay and will be released in 2026.

The strategy game is strongly reminiscent of the RTS classic Supreme Commander. Here, too, you can seamlessly zoom with the camera from orbit to the planet’s surface, where huge sci-fi battles usually rage, and this time even human soldiers are allowed to participate – previously, it was purely a battle between robots.

Thousands of units really do battle it out here, which looks pretty impressive. But the planet itself is also affected by the wild action. Destructible environments are one of the biggest new features in Ashes of Singularity 2. We’ll see if the sequel has fewer weaknesses than the original this time around.
