Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be released on 28 January. Fans are hoping for more innovation in the Pokémon world here.

Many Pokémon fans have long wanted a new game that feels less childish. Legends: Arceus is supposed to offer the solution to this. The semi-open-world game is said to feature a dark story that should challenge fans.

Me…

Mechanics will be changed

Those familiar with Pokémon are also familiar with the turn-based battles. So far, each generation has added another gimmick to this fighting style. Legends: Arceus, however, has a different plan in that there will be a greater focus on different attack styles. This will give players the opportunity to experiment around with several different strategies. This innovation takes some of the routine out of Pokémon games and should be a breath of fresh air.

Will Pokémon Legends: Arceus be a turning point for the Pokémon franchise?

The game is not out yet, but it can be said that Nintendo and Game Freak are sticking to old patterns in the production of the game. Therefore, many expect little in-game content and a rather unclean game.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus seems to be getting more content, but the game itself may still seem unfinished, as has often been seen from the Pokémon franchise. Of course, Radiant Diamond and Shining Pearl were fun for many fans, but they still contained plenty of bugs. This time around, however, Game Freak was given more time to work on the game, but if the way it works just doesn’t seem to work per se, even that is unfortunately of little use.

Legends: Arceus will therefore probably not bring us a great new era of Pokémon games, especially since Generation 9 is already in the works. So many are expecting another game in the Pokémon series that works but is no different in quality from the others.
