On October 15, the new season kicks off with new vehicles, weather effects, and bonuses for the weakened Lonestar faction.

Bulkhead and Team17 have confirmed details about Wardogs Season 2. The update will be released on October 15.

Over the course of the new season, the studio will introduce four new weapons, four vehicles, three components, a dynamic weather system, and an experimental betting feature to the game. These will be accompanied by extensive adjustments to combat, base building, progression, and faction balancing.

On the weapons front, the TCX-SPR assault rifle, the M14 DMR, the PP-19 Bizon SMG, and the Evo-3 Ultra LMG are being added to the game—along with a range of additional attachments. The vehicle roster expands to include the Wolf-110 and its armed assault variant, the T-72B3 Main Battle Tank, and the Gepard anti-aircraft tank for air defense.

A Breath of Fresh Air: Dynamic Rain, Base Building, and High-Risk Bets

When it comes to building components, you’ll now be able to construct an MG Nest, the Large Shelter, and the Wooden Step to secure your positions.

With Season 2, rain is also making its debut in online battles as a new weather preset. This changes conditions on the battlefield and affects visibility, engagement ranges, and sound. The rain interacts dynamically with the environment as well as with damaged or destroyed structures. At the same time, thunder rolls synchronously across the server and can briefly drown out footstep sounds.

The “Experimental Wager Vendor” feature lets you bet your in-game currency on your own performance. To do so, you select mission objectives with additional conditions to boost the potential payout—an optional high-risk, high-reward mechanic. The studio emphasizes that this is an initial, highly experimental version. The team plans to expand the system over time but expressly reserves the right to adjust it or even temporarily remove it during the season should it be exploited too heavily.

Balancing Initiative: New Weapon Roles and Bonuses for the Underdogs

In addition, adjustments are being made to weapon damage, recoil, and suppression to assign clearer roles to each weapon class. Bulkhead is also working on balancing the factions. Based on match data and community feedback, a social experiment—complete with a recruitment campaign—is launching: Players are encouraged to join the blue faction “Lonestar,” which had the lowest win rate in Season 1. In addition to adjustments to uniforms and spawn positions, Lonestar players can look forward to exclusive cash and XP bonuses in Season 2. In addition, the team is introducing vendor discounts for teams that have been inactive for a long time, as well as restrictions on late team switches during matches.

“We’ve learned an incredible amount since launch by watching the community play Wardogs,” says Joe Brammer, CEO of Bulkhead. “Season 2 brings more weapons, vehicles, and gameplay options. But just as important to us is that we’ve taken the feedback to heart and tweaked the elements that are crucial to every match. Early Access is all about continuing to develop the game together with the community—and this is our first big step on that journey.”
