Fans rejoice, Gumbas and Koopas tremble: our all-time favourite plumber will soon be hopping back onto Nintendo Switch in no less than three old-fashioned games.

If you have a paid subscription to Nintendo Switch Online, you should get your plumber’s cap out of the cupboard and comb your moustache. Because as early as 26 May 2023, three more games from the Mario universe will be added to the Game Boy Advance emulator.

Three classics for gaming fun on the go

Super Mario Advance 1, 2 and 3 find their way onto your Switch. This should ensure quite a bit of gaming fun for a long time, as each title has quite a bit of content to offer in its own right:

  • Super Mario Advance: This is a GBA remake of the NES classic Super Mario Bros. 2. The game includes 20 levels divided into seven worlds.
  • Super Mario Advance 2: The GBA variant of the cult game Super Mario World, which accompanied numerous childhoods back then on the SNES. For the two people in the world who don’t know this game: 74 brutely good levels are accompanied by catchy tunes that won’t leave your head for days.
  • Super Mario Advance 3: Once released under the name Super Mario World 2: Yoshi’s Island for the SNES. The best platform game of all time in the eyes of the author of these lines accompanies a whole horde of cuddly Yoshis as they protect Baby Mario from the nasty Kamek and bring him safely to his parents.

You can already tell from the above descriptions: Strictly speaking, the three games are only half new additions to Nintendo Switch Online. All three NES/SNES originals have already been available to play for some time in the respective emulators of the Nintendo service.

What has changed? The GBA versions differ from the originals in many ways. You can find an informative overview in the Mario Wiki:

Are you excited about the upcoming three classic titles on your Nintendo Switch? Which of these Mario titles is your favourite? Or are there other titles high on your wish list, and if so, which ones? Stuff a fireball in your mouth and let us know your thoughts on the subject in the comments!
