There are two detective games available at Epic this week, one of which also boasts amazing graphics.
Detectives are just cool – whether it’s Sherlock Holmes, Columbo, or Batman. Convicting criminals and bringing the truth to light makes for fantastic stories. That’s why you should check out the Epic Games Store this week, because there are now two detective games available for free!
As always, you have until next Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. to add the titles to your library. Then the games are yours to keep forever!
Nobody Wants to Die
In Nobody Wants to Die, you take on the role of Detective James Karra and must put a stop to a serial killer in a futuristic setting. You have one advantage: James can manipulate time a little.
So you reconstruct crime scenes, discover clues, and enjoy the beautifully dirty city designed with Unreal Engine 5. 84 percent of the reviews on Steam are positive, so there’s more than just a beautiful film noir facade behind it.

The Darkside Detective: A Fumble in the Dark
If you like your detective stories with a dash of humor, then you should take a closer look at this one. A Fumble in the Dark is the second installment of The Darkside Detective, but the different cases in the game are independent of each other. You can see the first installment in the trailer above.
You play Detective Francis McQueen, who uncovers all kinds of mysteries and often encounters abstruse suspects and environments that can elicit a laugh or two. The pixel graphics may not be a feast for the eyes for everyone, but the game certainly doesn’t look cheap.
A Fumble in the Dark has no reason to hide from its predecessor, with 95 percent positive reviews on Steam speak for themselves.
Will you be grabbing one or both of these free titles this week, or have you already tried one of the games? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments! If nothing caught your eye this week, just check back next Thursday, when Epic will be offering the next round of free games.
