A suspicious post on LinkedIn has reignited fans’ hopes for a new edition of Fallout: New Vegas.
Fallout fans and fans of Bethesda role-playing games in general are starved for news: for years, there has been nothing new about the Fallout games or Elder Scrolls. Any possible hint of an announcement, a release date, or the smallest technical and gameplay details is immediately discovered and thoroughly analyzed.
Now fans think they have discovered something again: the latest post from a development studio is raising hopes for a remaster of Fallout: New Vegas.
Update from March 4: It seems that fans got their hopes up too soon again. The developers themselves have now denied the rumors of a remaster. Iron Galaxy Studios write on Twitter:
No! There’s nothing to see here. We’re sorry to disturb the volcanoes, but this was just a behind-the-scenes look at our meeting. We use this slide every month, and it has nothing to do with us working on anything related to Fallout. As you can imagine, we love Fallout too. Now, if you’ll excuse us, we’re going to retreat to our vault.
Although the slide corresponds exactly to a graphic from Fallout: New Vegas (more on that below), it was probably an accidental red herring. Even if some fans are now jokingly arguing that this is exactly how someone who is secretly developing a Fallout remaster would react.
Wait a minute!
This time, Iron Galaxy Studios is causing excitement among Fallout fans with posted a suspicious image on Twitter and many other channels:
Today’s our February company meeting. It’s time to catch up with what the company’s been up to and what’s coming up next for IG. pic.twitter.com/4rVxkEVLgg

Well, do you recognize what this is about? The graphic with the words “Please Stand By” that can be seen on the screen is also visible when you start Fallout: New Vegas. It is really the exact same image, including the mountains visible in the background (see the video evidence here).
“_blank” data-mrf-link=“https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P6aOA2HgdtM” data-icon=“external”>here’s the video proof).
The New Vegas image is the first slide in a long presentation about the activities of Iron Galaxy Studios. The developers write the following about the image:
Today is our February company meeting. It’s time to take a look at what the company has been doing and what’s next for Iron Galaxy.
So the image is part of a presentation on Iron Galaxy’s projects. Could a Fallout remaster be in the works? At least that’s what fans are hoping for. In the presentation, Please Stand By
is of course only a placeholder and could have ended up there by chance. If you still need a dose of hope, take a look at the history of Iron Galaxy Studios. Not only have they developed their own games, but they have also been responsible for ports to various platforms on several occasions.
In addition, the developers have worked with Bethesda on several occasions, for example on the VR versions of Fallout 4 and Skyrim, as well as the Switch version of Skyrim. Iron Galaxy also helped out with Fallout 76. So the studio would not be an unreasonable choice for Bethesda.
There have been rumors about remakes of Fallout 3 and New Vegas for years. Bethesda itself had previously announced plans to remaster Fallout 3. However, it is not known whether this project is already in development or even still on the table. Rumor has it that a modernized version of Fallout: New Vegas is also in the works.
After all, Bethesda’s lead developer Todd Howard recently admitted in a podcast that the success of Oblivion Remastered has changed his attitude toward such remakes. So the chances of a remaster of Fallout: New Vegas are now higher than they were a year ago!
