With the right mods and the right hardware, The Witcher 3 shines in a whole new light.

It’s been over ten years since the release of the role-playing masterpiece The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. Even the next-gen update is almost three years old now. A modder proves with a video that the game still looks fantastic today with the right mods.

The Witcher 3 has never looked so good

The Witcher 3 is an absolute milestone in gaming history and, even more than ten years after its release, remains one of the best role-playing games of all time. CD Projekt Red itself has provided the title with several technical updates over the years.

Nevertheless, the ravages of time are naturally taking their toll on the legendary witcher Geralt of Rivia. Fortunately, there is a passionate modding community that still holds the title in high regard and keeps it up to date on its own initiative.

YouTuber and modder Digital Dreams specializes in showcases of particularly polished games.
Using state-of-the-art technology, he tries to get the absolute maximum out of current and older games. In a new video, aptly titled “The Witcher 3 has never looked so good,” he shows the RPG with a whole range of mods in 4K and at 120 FPS.
The system is appropriately well equipped:

  • Nvidia RTX 5090 FE
  • AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
  • Gigabyte Aorus X670 AX
  • 64 GB RAM

And this is what it all looks like:

In the mods, the “Witcher 3 NG RPL Beyond all Limits Reshade preset” is available exclusively to supporters. Further mods are listed in the mod list on Nexus Mods .

Not only do the landscapes look stunning in the video, but it’s also impressive how smoothly the game appears to run. Even in larger settlements and cities with numerous NPCs, the frame rate doesn’t drop. Admittedly, the system used is the current cutting edge of PC hardware.

If CD Projekt Red manages to make The Witcher 4 look this good, or even better, the RPG throne could once again be shaken. But it will probably be a few years before that happens.
