In addition to shipbuilding, the procedurally generated universe offers numerous tasks. You collect resources such as water and fuel or equip your fleet with railguns and lasers. The battles require tactical skill rather than pure firepower. You can hire yourself out as a mining engineer, pirate hunter, or simple freighter captain. The Steam Workshop also allows you to share your own designs with the entire community.
Despite the ambitious plans, there has been criticism recently. The user ratings on Steam are currently at 69 percent. Many players criticize the balancing and lack of polish in the late game. However, Introversion Software promises that version 1.0 will close these gaps. As with their previous titles, regular free content updates will follow after the release on February 3, 2026, to further expand the universe.
