The new Steam Sale is all about simulations – these 14 games are now really worthwhile

There should be something for many of you in this sale, with everything from traffic sims to build sims to beer brewing represented!

This article is written on a Friday and what better way to celebrate the end of the working week for a large part of us than with a.) a sim on the PC or b.) a Steam sale.

Why then or? You can do both! Steam is hosting the (Big Simulation Festival) from 20 to 24 July  We present you some particularly tempting offers – be it due to a big discount or particularly positive user reviews. Damn, it’s that or again! Some games meet both criteria!

Before you wonder: Steam defines the term Simulation very broadly this time, which is why we’ve kept it the same. So don’t just expect hardcore sims like the bus simulator or the construction site simulator, but also genre mixes.

You don’t have any money in your pocket but really want to build a high-end PC with all the bells and whistles like RGB lighting and water cooling? Then the PC Building Simulator should be just right for you.

Here you can open and expand your own PC workshop and let off steam. Your tasks range from simple repairs to elaborate casemods to exclusive presentation specimens. A large number of licensed components from real manufacturers are at your disposal.

The coolest thing: You can even test your builds in the popular 3DMark benchmark tool without having to sweat real hardware!

Riding a bus is nice and relaxing, at least the author of these lines thinks so. He used to like to just ride the bus around instead of going to school, ahem. Don’t imitate that! But it was nice. Where were we? Oh yes:

The Bus Simulator 21 is also currently heavily discounted! You should be able to guess what this is all about from the title of the game. If you have always wanted to start your own career as a bus driver, now you have at least no financial reason to wait any longer!

We promised you 14 games, so by Adam’s reckoning, there’s still 12 to go. Are you ready? Phew, okay, we can do it. One, two… go!

• Brewmaster: Brewing your own beer is an art! Maybe our craft beer virtuoso Phil should give it a try too. Would you like to, without a growing belly and aching head the morning after? This game makes it possible! (12 Euro, reduced by 34 percent)

• Techtonica: You are building a gigantic factory. Sounds unspectacular? Then prick up your ears: firstly, you’re on an alien planet, secondly, everything takes place in immersive first-person perspective! (25 Euro, reduced by 15 percent)

• Timberborn: Do you like beavers? If so, you don’t have to read any further and can go directly to the shop page. • The Wandering Village: Another city-building simulator. On the back of a giant creature you have to build your own settlement and live in symbiosis with your landlord. (19 Euro, reduced by 25 percent)

• Transport Fever 2: A classic representative of the transport simulations. You are responsible for keeping the traffic moving – whether on land, on the water or in the air. So there should be enough variety. (20 Euro,  reduced by 50 percent)

• Building Simulator: The dream of owning a home has become unattainable for many of us these days. However, the necessary small change for this simulation should be easy to find. Build your dream project alone or with friends! (28 Euro, 30 percent off)

• Human: Fall Flat: A simulation of a somewhat different kind, namely people are simulated here who, well, fall down. And some of it is so wonderfully grotesque that loud laughs are pre-programmed! (6 Euro,  reduced by 70 percent)

• Empires of the Undergrowth: Yes, this building strategy gem can pass for a simulation too. At least that’s how Steam sees it, and we agree, because: An ant colony is simulated here. Not really realistic, but all the more exciting for it! (16 Euro, reduced by 20 percent)

• Mars Horizon: Is Kerbal Space Program too complex for you? Maybe this space strategy simulation is just the thing for you! The game was even developed with the support of the European Space Agency. (6 Euro, reduced by 67 percent)
