Wait a minute, now The Legend of Zelda is to be made into a movie after all? Rumors are swirling about not one, but two adaptations for the big screen.

In almost every Zelda game, Link has to save his princess and the land of Hyrule from Ganondorf all over again. Somewhere you can surely find a parallel to the rumors about a Zelda movie that are boiling up again and againBecause supposedly two of them are coming and that sounds almost too good to be true.

What exactly does the rumor say? According to new, but quite familiar sounding rumors, a Zelda animated movie is coming from Illumination, who already brought the very successful Mario movie to the big screen.

Parallel to that, a live-action adaptation is also reportedly planned, which will turn out super serious and will be set in its own universe, detached from the animated films.

When the respective projects could appear and who exactly would be involved is currently unknown, however. More info about the potential Zelda movies is not revealed in the rumors.

Where does the rumor come from? The new speculations about two Zelda movies can be traced back to a conversation of (Caleb Williams) and (MyTimeToShineHello) on X (formerly Twitter). Especially the latter is now considered a credible source in the film and TV sector and seems to have access to a lot of inside information.

How credible is the rumor? Of course, fans should not rejoice too soon and wait for an official confirmation first, because in the past rumors about potential Zelda movies boiled up again and again, which were never to be proven true until today. In addition, just a few weeks ago the Illumination boss personally denied corresponding speculations.

However, the idea of a Zelda adaptation (or two) doesn’t really sound outlandish. After all, it is one of Nintendo’s oldest and most lucrative brands and only recently Super Mario Bros. showed how much money an adaptation for the cinema can make. It seems like a logical consequence to build on this success.

What do you think of the new rumors about two possible Zelda adaptations: Would you be happy to see the time-honored game series flicker across the big screen? Or could you do without it with a clear conscience? What kind of video game do you think deserves a movie or TV series? Let us know in the comments!
