Gaming has no age limit—just like losing track of time every now and then.

An American woman in Westlake, Ohio, received a visit from the police while gaming. However, she wasn’t being too loud or had done anything wrong. She simply didn’t answer the phone, which is why the officers stopped by to check on her.

Grandma on a Record Run

HowNews 5 Cleveland reports, Westlake police were dispatched last Thursday to check on a 91-year-old woman at her home.

The American woman was registered in the local“Are You Okay? Program”. Residents of the city receive a call once a day simply to check if they are doing well.

The program is aimed at older adults or people who need assistance but live alone. When the 91-year-old did not respond to calls from the police or her daughter, an officer was sent to the house.

The woman was then found in her bedroom, where she was playing a video game. She had missed the calls because she was trying to break a record.

The police took it in stride. “We had a good laugh,” explains Police Chief Jerry Vogel, calling it a good reminder for citizens that this service exists.

So there was a happy ending for the grandmother and the police, but I havesome bad newsfor you: They won’t reveal which game had the old lady so captivated. Too bad.

However, speculation is already rife in the comments section of the YouTube videofeaturing the TV report. It’s suspected that she’s trying to dominate the ranked mode in Call of Duty or perhaps in Arc Raiders.

Video games are for all age groups

Of course, the story of a 90-year-old who forgets everything while gaming is curious, but by no means an isolated case. Half the internet knows Skyrim Grandma Shirley Curry and was even sad when she ended her career in late 2025.

We’ve often reported on people who still game even in their golden years, and let’s be honest: isn’t that what we all want, too? Since you’ll probably answer “yes” to that question, why not tell us in the comments which game you think she was playing?
