Epic is currently giving away System Shock 2 in the 25th Anniversary Remaster Edition.
Just like every week, Epic Games is giving away video games that you’d normally have to pay for. This time, System Shock 2 is among the titles on offer. But not the outdated 1999 release version—rather, the improved and modernized 2025 remaster. Here’s everything you need to know.

What kind of game is this? System Shock 2 is set in the year 2114. You wake up in an FTL ship from cryosleep,without knowing where you are or who you are. The rogue AI Shodan has taken over the ship and is determined to destroy all of humanity. You are humanity’s last hope to stop her from carrying out her plan.
System Shock 2 was released 27 years ago and, thanks to its blend of multiple genres and creative design choices, revolutionized both the role-playing and shooter genres. With this remaster, you’ll experience the classic withgraphically enhanced visualsand a number ofquality-of-life improvements.
