Focus Entertainment provides all the key details about the upcoming action-adventure game. You can expect the longest installment in the series to date, which can be enjoyed even without any prior knowledge of the series.

Focus Entertainment and developer Asobo Studio have released details on, among other things, the playtime and file size of *Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy*.

An officialFAQ pageconfirms that you can complete the game in about 20 hours, making it the longest title in the series to date.

Prequel Plot, Storage Space, and Pre-order Bonuses

At the same time, *Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy* is a prequel, but according to the developers, no prior knowledge is required: “Although *Resonance* is a prequel, you don’t need any prior knowledge. You don’t have to have played either *A Plague Tale: Innocence* or *Requiem* to fully enjoy the game and experience it to the fullest!”

As for file size, you can expect the game to take up 76 GB on PC. On the Xbox Series X/S, it’s 66 GB, while the PlayStation 5 requires the least storage space at 58 GB.

The site also mentions that pre-ordering will get you a few small bonuses (digital items and an in-game artbook) and that Anna Demetriou plays the role of Sophia—this applies to both voice acting and motion capture.

Release Date, Game Pass, and First Preview Impressions

Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy will be released on August 27, 2026, for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5—the title will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch.

Benjamin Schmädig got to play the game a few months ago;you can read his impressions here. In his preview, he wrote: “I think it’s great that Asobo Studio is breaking new ground after the main story has concluded! One could certainly speculate that the shift from stealth-action to a full-fledged action-adventure is merely an attempt to expand the target audience. However, the series isn’t defined solely by its combat or stealth systems, but also by an emotional story and other elements that I actually found again in this second preview of *Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy*.”
