The curtain is finally rising on theremake of Gothic 1. THQ is showing over four minutes from the new edition of the celebrated role-playing masterpiece from 2001 at its in-house show.

Familiar locations from the open world can be seen, such as the Old Camp or the Mines of Khorinis, but legendary enemies such as Molerats, Goblins and Scavengers are also back with the UE5 facelift.

The developers also explain and demonstrate the most important design pillars in the Gothic remake in the video:

– Lively simulation
– Exploration
– story
– Combat

The original is also being carefully expanded with new functions and features. These include an expanded crafting system or extensive daily routines for NPCs.

A small drop of bitterness at the end: An exact release date is still not mentioned. So we’ll have to wait and see and drink swamp grass rough … uh, drink tea!
