Can’t wait for Anno 117 to be released? Don’t worry! You can try out the first demo in just a few weeks.

Anno 117: Pax Romana won’t actually be released until November 13, but you can play the building game before then! And it’s free, albeit with limited scope and time restrictions. It doesn’t just sound like a demo, it is a demo!

While we presented exclusive gameplay scenes from the Albion region for the first time on our FYNG stage, a free PC demo for Anno 117 was announced at the same time. And you won’t have to wait too long for it!

The most important information at a glance

  • When will the demo be released? September 2
  • How long will the demo be available? Until September 16
  • How long is the demo? 1 hour
  • Where can I find the demo? On Steam and Ubisoft Connect

What you can expect in the demo

If you were at gamescom and made your way to the Anno booth, you already know what to expect. The content is largely the same as the demo in Cologne. The only difference is that you can play from the comfort of your own home without any annoying waiting times.

You can play for a total of one hour, after which your current round will be automatically interrupted. The demo is therefore limited by time rather than by a milestone. So if you play really well and quickly, you’ll see much more of the new Anno than if you take your time.
Of course, it’s also possible that some content will still be completely missing.
You can play a round in both Latium and Albion in the demo. Latium is the Roman heartland, Albion the realm of the Celts. We explained how Albion differs from Latium in a preview.

Even though the playing time is limited, you can still start over as often as you want. So you can play for an hour in Latium and an hour in Albion.

Even if you play the demo over and over again from September 2, it will eventually come to an end. The demo will disappear again on September 16. Then you’ll really have to grit your teeth and wait another two months before the game is released in full. In the meantime, we’ll keep the Annoholics among you up to date here.
