Slay the Spire 2 is outperforming all others on Steam and is leading the sales charts by a large margin.

For the sequel to the successful deck-building roguelike, things could hardly have gone better on Steam in March. Slay the Spire 2was already able to shine with user ratings and game numbers at its release on March 5, 2026, which others can only dream of. According to the experts at Alinea Analytics, the gamehas been sold over 5 million times on Steam.

Slay the Spire 2 dominates Steam

The game from developer Mega Crit sold a good 5.3 million copies in March – as an Early Access release, mind you. As the experts explain intheir newsletterSlay the Spire made 108 million US dollars in sales on Steam alone.

This means that Slay the Spire 2 is more than certain to top the sales charts in March. Crimson Desert follows in second place with 1.9 million sales.

This is followed by Climber Animals Together, which is particularly popular in China, with 1.2 million games sold.

Resident Evil Requiemachieved an almost identical figure.

Surprisingly, Resi 9 also seems to have brought an older title in the series back into the limelight. In 5th place is the remake ofResident Evil 3with almost one million sales.

The overall picture

Of course, we are only looking at the figures for one platform here, as Crimson Desert and Resident Evil Requiem are also doing very well overall.

In theanalysis of the datafor the PlayStation 5, Alinea Analytics notes that Crimson Desert has sold another million copies on Sony’s console. In total, the sales figures amount to 4 million in just two weeks after release.

Resi 9 did even better. The horror game sold 1.9 million copies on the PS5 in March alone, topping the sales charts. This brings the total PS5 sales to 2.9 million, with a turnover of 200 million US dollars.

For developer Mega Crit, Slay the Spire 2 is already a great success in Early Access and it will be exciting to see where the journey will take us over the next one to two years of the test phase.
