As every week, Epic Games is giving away new free titles on Thursday. This week, there are two games available for free: a cute hidden object game and a party game about delivering mail.
Every Thursday, Steam competitor Epic Games shuffles the deck and gives away one or more free games. The titles are easy to get and will remain in your library forever.
This week, Epic is giving away two games: Hidden Folks, a cute hidden object game from Dutch indie developer Adriaan de Jongh in the style of the books from your childhood; and Totally Reliable Delivery Service, a fun ragdoll physics simulation for multiplayer sessions with friends.
We’ll tell you more about both of them below.
How long does the promotion last? You can get the free games from Epic until next Thursday, August 21, at 4:59 p.m. The next wave of free games will roll out at 5:00 p.m.
Free game #1: Hidden Folks
Developer: Adriaan de Jongh – Release: February 2017 – Genre: Hidden object game
In the hand-drawn hidden object game Hidden Folks , as the title suggests, you search for a wide variety of people and objects. But unlike in Where’s Waldo or other picture puzzles, the people in Hidden Folks like to hide in tents, buildings, or behind hay bales.
Sometimes you’ll have to set off a chain of events before you reach your goal.
Hidden Folks is a fantastic game for in between. Whether you’re bored during your lunch break, want to puzzle together with your family, or just want to find one or two people on Steam Deck before bed, Hidden Folks is always a good choice.
Free game #2: Totally Reliable Delivery Service
In this unusual delivery service simulator with the humorous name Totally Reliable Delivery Service (what could possibly go wrong?), you team up with three friends and go about your work in a brightly colored, open sandbox world in a haphazard and chaotic manner.
Co-op works via local split screen and online multiplayer. The delivery routine is made particularly funny by absurdly exaggerated ragdoll physics that constantly cause you to overshoot your target, as well as all kinds of vehicles and machines to let off steam. It’s up to you to decide how you ultimately get your package from A to B.
What other games are free?
For the sake of completeness, we don’t want to keep you in the dark that GOG, CD Projekt’s game marketplace, also has a permanent selection of free titles, including the first two The Elder Scrolls games, Daggerfall and Arena. Fans of retro games in particular should check back here regularly.
If you didn’t find a free game you like this week, check back next week when the next free game is announced. In addition, every Friday we present the latest free games for the weekend on Steam. What do you think of the current free games on Epic? Were you already familiar with Hidden Folks or the totally reliable delivery service? Let us know in the comments.
