Logan Paul is once again drawing attention to Pokémon cards. The polarising influencer and social media star wore an extremely expensive Pokémon card in his show fight with boxing legend Floyd Mayweather.

Logan Paul has done it again. As if the influencer hadn’t already done enough publicity for his expensive Pokémon collection, he flaunts one of his rare trading cards on Sunday ahead of his boxing match against Floyd Mayweather. While rappers flaunt luxurious gold chains and Rolex watches, Paul wears an expensive Glurak around his neck.

Glurak is considered one of the most popular Pokémon in the entire franchise. After Logan Paul created a worldwide hype for the Pokémon trading cards with box openings since October 2020, the prices for the collectibles increased drastically. Whereas a year ago such a Glurak in 1st Edition from the basic set was traded for 100,000 US dollars, the current price is already around 400,000 US dollars.

Nevertheless, a Glurak is not the most expensive card at the moment. Because the “Illustrator Pikachu”, of which only 20 worldwide copies are currently known, costs as much as the Glurak even in a 7 rating. A 9-rated version of the is currently offered for immediate purchase on ebay for three million US dollars.

Will Logan Paul’s prominent placement of the Glurak in the fight against Floyd Mayweather drive up the market value of trading cards even further? Last year’s Pokémon craze had already played its part. Fans on Twitter and other social media platforms are ambivalent about his action.
