Lego sets based on the Harry Potter series are official, and a handful of details are already available.
On September 1, HBO released theBack to Hogwarts Showcase 2026as a livestream and revealed new information about the first season of the upcoming Harry Potter series.
There was also an announcement regarding LEGO: The Danish toy company willvery, very soon
release official sets based on the HBO series. While this isn’t exactly a surprise, there’s still some exciting initial information to share.
First Details on the New Generation of LEGO Harry Potter
In addition to the announcement itself, the reveal provides two specific details. Unfortunately, there are no images of the sets yet. However, there are images of the new minifigures of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, which are based on the new actors (Dominic McLaughlin as Harry, Alastair Stout as Ron, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione).
The images are unfortunately small, but you can still make them out. The LEGO trailer starts at the 36:17 mark in the video above; you’ll see the figures a few seconds later. In the following trailer for the series, you can refresh your memories of the new actors.
As a second detail, the setsare set to arrive very, very soon
. The series will launch during the 2026 holiday season. It is unlikely that the sets will arrive before then, soJanuary 2027 is a realistic date for the launch.
Early leaks are already revealing more: Three LEGO sets have already been announced for next year. The English names are:Harry meets Dobby
(German: Harry trifft Dobby),Neville’s Herbology Lesson
(German: Neville Learns Herbology), andFirst Year at Hogwarts Castle
(German: First Year at Hogwarts).
While the first two leaked sets cover themes that don’t appear until later in the Harry Potter saga, the latter refers tothe first year at Hogwarts. The odds are therefore extremely high that this is a set related to the new series.
According to the leaks, the set is scheduled to be released on January 1, 2027, and will cost $110. It remains to be seen whether only one set based on the series will be released initially or if there will be more.
New Arrival, but the Old Remains: If the leaks prove true, Lego will—at least temporarily—release sets based on both the series and the movies simultaneously. Since popular characters like Sirius Black, Cedric Diggory, and Voldemort in his human form won’t appear in the series for a few years, it’s likely that LEGO will stick with this strategy for the time being.
