It’s almost here: the first major DLC, including patch 1.3, for the medieval masterpiece will be released next week. We’ll tell you everything we know about “Deadly Brushes.”
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is alive and kicking even after its release: the first add-on is just around the corner. We already knew it would be released in mid-May, but now developer Warhorse has also revealed the exact release date.
The DLC Brushes With Death will be released on May 15, 2025. It will then be available immediately for all versions – on PC Steam, Epic, and GOG, as well as on consoles.
We’ll summarize what exactly is included and what else we know about the add-on and the future of the role-playing game.
What’s included in the Brushes With Death DLC (and in patch 1.3)
New story: The add-on introduces a new mission chain revolving around a mysterious artist. Henry meets him at Trosky Castle, where he has taken up residence. He then helps him find inspiration – and in doing so comes into contact with some legends and superstitions. Here’s the trailer:

New feature: Paint shields: Thanks to the add-on, you can now design your own motifs for your shields. You can combine designs that you unlock by completing story missions with all kinds of colors and patterns. Classic designs such as the branches of the Leipa Lords and, of course, the ass trumpet are included.
Free for everyone: Patch and horse races: The DLC will be released together with a large patch containing bug fixes and new features. The most exciting addition is probably the horse races, which will also be available to players who don’t purchase the DLC. These races aren’t just about speed, but also skill, for example in mounted archery. A great way to earn prize money!
This add-on won’t be the last; a total of three expansions for Kingdom Come 2 have been announced, all of which are scheduled for release in 2025. According to the developers, however, that will be it for now, as they want to turn their attention to their next project starting in 2026.
The two remaining add-ons are called Legacy of the Forge and Mysteria Ecclesiae. The first is about, surprise, a forge that Henry rebuilds. And in the last DLC, you finally visit the huge Sedletz monastery, where you fight a mysterious disease.
