Good news for Metro fans: The sequel to Exodus can be played through completely according to an insider and should be revealed soon. A release is probably not too far away either.
The release of Metro 4 could be coming much sooner than perhaps thought. Because according to an established insider, the sequel to Exodus has made good progress since it was first announced in 2020.
According to Tom Henderson of (Insider-Gaming) the new shooter from developer studio 4A Games is already playable from start to finish. The official unveiling could come later this year, while a 2024 release is considered quite conceivable.
In addition, fans of Metro should get exactly what they already know from the predecessors: According to Henderson, familiar gameplay elements such as stealth, crafting, looting resources and so on will return.

What else is known about Metro 4
It’s no secret that a new Metro is coming after Exodus. The developers at 4A Games already let this slip in 2020. When it was first announced, there was still talk that the sequel to Exodus would focus on multiplayer, but later the studio backed off a bit.
Instead, Metro 4 will retain its single-player focus, while 4A Games says it only wants to incorporate multiplayer elements that make sense in the context of the game. Exactly what that looks like or whether that is actually still the plan, however, remains open at this point. After all, almost three years have passed since this announcement.
But at least one thing is certain: For the next Metro, 4A Games is completely overhauling the graphics engine and the renderer. The game should benefit from the power of the new Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
