The Kickstarter campaign for one of the most popular superhero series is set to launch this year.

Want to blow things up like Rex Splode? Or manipulate the molecular level like Atom Eve? Or just track down criminals as a diabolical detective from hell like Damien Darkblood? Or maybe you just want to be virtually invincible and come from the planet Viltrum like Invincible or, of course, Omni-Man.

Maybe you even have an even cooler idea for a superhero who takes on some terrifyingly powerful enemies in the brutal and bloody world of the comic and series. Whatever drives you, as long as it has to do with superheroes and fits into the colorful world of Invincible, you’ll soon be able to create and play your own hero.

That’s because a pen-and-paper game is currently in development that will make exactly that possible.

What you can expect in Invincible – Superhero Roleplaying

Not many details about the role-playing game are known yet, but fans are eagerly awaiting the launch of the Kickstarter campaign. However, on September 15, it was announced when it would be ready.

Starting September 23, anyone interested can spend money to support the development – and in doing so, secure the basic rulebook and, in the best case, even unlock additional stretch goals.

The Invincible pen-and-paper game will, of course, take place entirely in the world of the comics and series, allowing you to form your own superhero team together with your friends.

The two experienced game designers Adam Bradford and Tomas Härenstam are responsible for the role-playing game at the publisher Free League. The duo is using the Year Zero Engine as the basis for the rules.

What’s on offer

At least for now, it seems to be a rather small project. The Kickstarter page doesn’t promise much more than is necessary. Of course, there will be a basic rulebook. It explains the rules in detail, introduces you to the world, and gives you an overview of how to create your own heroes.

Beyond that, only minor items are offered as stretch goals. These include a starter box and an exclusive comic from Skybound with a special cover.

There is no release date for the role-playing game yet; first, the campaign must raise enough money.
