Normally, player numbers reach their all-time high in the first week after release. Arc Raiders is a rare exception.

462,488—that’s how many Steam users were playing the extraction shooter Arc Raiders at 9 p.m. German time on November 9, 2025.

What’s special about this number is not only that it corresponds to our editor-in-chief’s weekly salary (we now refer to him as Money Hoarder Heiko), but also that this new player peak was reached at an unusual time.

Raising the bar even higher

Steam hits usually reach their all-time highs in the first week after their official release, when the hype is at its peak. After that, there are still some upward outliers, such as when content updates are released, but the games no longer reach the numbers they did at launch.

There are very, very rare exceptions to this rule—and Arc Raiders is one of them. The popular extraction shooter initially set a personal best of 354,836 players in its release week (November 2), only to surpass it again exactly one week later (source: SteamDB).

Which brings us back to the beginning of the news: 462,488 players. Has the end of the line been reached? Wait and see!

Arc Raiders still has a lot in store for 2025. Two updates are scheduled to be released by the end of the year, providing fans with new content. “North Line” and “Cold Snap” will deliver a new map, fresh enemies, and additional events. So chances are good that the recent player peak won’t be the last.
