The co-op shooter continues to struggle with its huge success. The server situation is still critical, although the development team is already busy making improvements
One of the best co-op shooters has one of the worst launches.
When we start our test with these words, it is clear: Helldivers 2 has technical problems. The multiplayer title has been struggling with overcrowded servers, long queues and other problems since its release.
The most successful PlayStation title on Steam to date has recently received several fixes to improve the situation. Even that didn’t seem to help.
Full again after just five minutes
Johan Pilestedt, the CEO of Helldiver developer Arrowhead, has released a statement in which he comments on the current situation and the measures already taken. If you avoid X (formerly Twitter), you can also find the statement on Steam

The three hotfixes released so far were supposed to take care of the shooter’s biggest technical problems, but he says they haven’t really helped:
- Rewards are still not being unlocked: According to Pilestedt, the problem still exists and further server maintenance work is required. In the meantime, affected users should try restarting the game.
- Login problems persist: The developers have already increased the total capacity of the servers from 250,000 to a maximum of 360,000 players – without success, after around five minutes the servers are said to have already reached their limit again.
Finally, Johan Pilestedt reassures the fans that the team continues to work at full speed to improve the situation And yes, the almost obligatory apology is also made. But first Pilestedt wants to give his technicians a well-deserved good night’s sleep
