At the age of 27, the actor has died in a motorcycle accident. Due to the tragic incident, the second season of the prime series has been postponed

The young actor Chance Perdomo died in a motorcycle accident on March 30, 2024. He was only 27 years old. He was best known for his roles in the series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (as Ambrose Spellman) and the spin-off of The Boys, Gen V (as Andre Anderson).

According to media reports, no other person was involved in the accident. The exact course of events has not been made public, Perdomo’s family asks for privacy.

Colleagues shocked, start of filming postponed

On the anniversary of Perdomo’s death, the first joint reading of the Gen V cast was to take place before filming for season 2 was to begin on April 8, 2024. All of this has now been postponed indefinitely. The producers of the series released an emotional statement on X (formerly Twitter):

We can’t really comprehend it. For those of us who knew him and worked with him, Chance was always charming and smiling, an enthusiastic force of nature, an incredibly talented performer and above all a very kind, lovely person. It makes no sense to write about him in the past tense. Our condolences go out to Chance’s family, and we mourn the loss of our friend and colleague. Hugs to your loved ones tonight

Perdomo was born in California on October 19, 1996. His family moved to England when he was still a child, where he grew up and began his acting career at the National Youth Theatre. His breakthrough came in 2018 with a leading role in the Netflix horror series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.

It may be a while before a new schedule for the second season of the Prime-exclusive series is announced. A release date was previously unknown anyway, and it is highly unlikely to be 2024. It is also far too early for discussions about a possible recasting of the role so soon after the accident.
