On October 19, 11 bit studios will bring the brutal survival-building game to Nintendo’s console. Discounted bundle packages are also available in the eShop.
11 bit studios has confirmed that the Nintendo Switch version of Frostpunk will be released on October 19, 2026, for the Nintendo Switch.
This appears to refer primarily to the original Switch; a native Switch 2 version will likely not be available—at least initially—though you’ll still be able to play it on the new console.
Special offer, DLCs, and free demo: An overview of the Switch editions
This survival-building game was originally released in 2018 and lets you take control of the last city on Earth. You must ensure that the people survive—while simultaneously making decisions that directly impact this very aspect.
At the time, Frostpunk received various awards and is being released on the Nintendo console as the Standard Edition and Complete Edition. The former is available with a 30 percent launch discount, while the latter is 35 percent off. The Complete Edition also includes the three DLC packs: “The Rifts,” “The Last Autumn,” and “On The Edge.” Pre-orders are now available, and you can try out a demo in the eShop.
Ice-Cold Decisions: Laws, Research, and Crisis Management
As the city’s ruler, you’ll enact laws to regulate working hours, medical care, food distribution, and other essential aspects of daily life—but you can’t always make everyone happy.
Meanwhile, you must respond to current events without losing sight of the future by investing in research and technological progress.
Dangerous Expeditions and Endless Mode: Variety in the Perpetual Ice
This also includes exploring the area around your city through risky expeditions, which can, however, yield useful resources, information, and new residents.
If that’s too stressful for you, you can build at a leisurely pace in Relaxed Mode or let loose in Endless Mode.
