This week, you can get a pixel-art sword-fighting game completely free on Epic.

Like every Thursday, you can grab (at least) one free game on the Epic Games Store. Currently, you can get Clone Drone in the Danger Zone, where you swing a laser sword as a robot gladiator. The special twist: You can sever your opponents’ limbs, which severely limits their ability to fight. Of course, this can happen to you, too.

Clone Drone in the Danger Zone is all about brutal arena battles between robot gladiators. However, thanks to its pixel art style, it still falls under the FSK-12 rating.

In a third-person view, you control a mech that you can equip with weapons such asswords, spears, and bows and arrows—all in laser versions, of course.

Forsingle-player fansthere is a story mode, an endless mode with seven difficulty levels, and special challenges where, for example, you can only fight with a specific weapon.

Themultiplayerfeatures aBattle Royalemode. 15 players battle it out in matches lasting about 15 minutes until only one remains. If you’d rather compete in 1-on-1 matches, you can challenge friends toprivate duels.

If you preferco-op play, there’s also a mode where you must work together in the arena to survive waves of AI opponents.

As anexciting gameplay featureyou can chop off opponents’ arms and legs, though this allows them to keep fighting or even keep hopping around until you completely dismember them. You’ll also need to whittle down particularly large and heavy opponents before you can defeat them.

As you progress through the game, you’ll upgrade your mech withupgrades. These include a jetpack, the ability to kick enemies (for example, into traps on the map), or a powerful fire breath that incinerates your foes.

On Steam, Clone Drone in the Danger Zone has an overall 96% positive rating, based on over 34,000 user reviews.

As always, you have exactly one week to grab the game for free on the Epic Games Store. Specifically, until April 9, 2026, at 5:00 PM German time. There is no additional content available on Epic.
