This is what Gods Will Fall is all about
The ten gods in the fantasy world of Gods Will Fall have been oppressing humanity for millennia and demand obedience. Anyone who resists is mercilessly slaughtered. Your group of randomly created heroes does not like this at all, which is why they set out to finish off the evil gods one by one.
In the comparatively relaxed upper world, a realm of one of the gods is waiting behind special doors. And these biomes are not only composed randomly and change with each playthrough, but are also teeming with the minions of the gods. So you fight monsters in an iso-perspective in order to kill their boss god at the end.
In the process, your current hero evolves, learns new skills and finds better weapons, making you stronger, more agile and more versatile in battle. Gods Will Fall is not easy, however, which is why some players on Steam compare it to Dark Souls.

What’s inside: Epic is giving away Gods Will Fall in the Standard Edition, which, unlike the Valiant Edition, does not include the Valley of the Dormant Gods expansion and thus does not include three additional gods complete with biomes or extra abilities and items. The addon can be purchased on Epic for 8 Euros.
For whom is the free game suitable?
Are you looking for a challenge? Do you like stylised games with a comic look? And ideally don’t want to shell out any money for it? Then the latest Epic gift could be the right one for you.
But you shouldn’t expect a deep role-playing system like in Diablo. Gods Will Fall sees itself as an entertaining action brawler. Nevertheless, one or the other ARPGer might find a worthwhile break because of the similarities in combat system and perspective.
What do players say?
On (Steam), players of Gods Will Fall are precisely split into two camps. 48 percent positive ratings paint a balanced mood picture. While half find much to like about the difficulty level, others criticise that much of it comes from imprecise controls.
Some reviewers also vehemently defend the game against the numerous critics or cannot understand why it is rated poorly at all. This makes the current lack of a price tag an ideal opportunity to get an impression of the game for yourself without any financial risk.
