For fans of Mega Man, there’s a real highlight at Epic this week, and it’s completely free.

If you think Mega Man X is the best game on the planet, or you’re a fan of platformers on arcade machines or the SNES anyway, then this week’s free game on Epic is just right for you: Gravity Circuit.

Free on Epic: Gravity Circuit

Genre: 2D platformer – Developer: Domesticated Art Games – Release: July 13, 2023

The world of Gravity Circuit is populated by intelligent robots and is suddenly threatened by an enemy that had already been defeated. You play Kai, a lone fighter, hero of the last war, and the last hope of the population.

The game is reminiscent of Mega Man in many ways. There are jumping passages, different types of enemies, and, of course, boss fights.

However, Gravity Circuit hardly lets you use ranged attacks, instead sending you into close combat at all times. You use strike combos with fast and chargeable blows, deflect enemy projectiles, and move quickly through the level thanks to grappling hooks.

You can buy “Booster Chips” from NPCs, which give you new abilities such as double jumps, sprints, or even the essential grappling hook.

You can also acquire so-called “burst techniques,” but many of them must first be unlocked by defeating boss enemies. This gives you abilities such as a spinning kick, a temporary barrier, or an energy beam.

On Steam, Gravity Circuit has a 95 percent positive review rating, based on over 2,500 reviews. Users praise the well-balanced learning curve, smooth combat, pretty 16-bit look, and driving soundtrack.

The PC version has an , but there are only five detailed reviews of Gravity Circuit in total.

(Go to Gravity Circuit on the Epic Games Store! )

This week, the Epic Games Store may not be offering a big blockbuster video game for free, but it does have an extremely well-rated indie game with a high nostalgia factor and lots of charm. As always, you have exactly one week, until October 16, 2025, at 5:00 p.m., to get Gravity Circuit for free.
