Fans of the role-playing game spent over a decade developing Skyrim Lordbound. Now you can finally play even more Skyrim!
For 14 years now, you’ve been able to roam Skyrim in The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. The role-playing game is very extensive in itself and can keep you busy for hundreds of hours. After such a long time, however, you might think you’ve already turned over every stone in the world. Even daredevil stunts like the ones shown in the video below will eventually get boring.
If you’re still in the mood for Skyrim, you can get over 60 more hours out of the game with the Lordbound mod.
New region, new quests, new dungeons
Fans have been working on the free Lordbound expansion, which is now available to everyone. The mod adds a new area, several new quests, and even dungeons to the game.
What it’s about: Lordbound expands Skyrim with a new, large area: Druadach Valley. For 200 years, the valley was cut off from Skyrim and High Rock, but now it is accessible again.
A war is raging here between Chief Gorek of Garshaku and the Imperial Legion, who want to claim the trade route between the cities of Jehanna and Solitude. While the inhabitants seek refuge in Highreach, the fate of the valley lies in your hands.
What’s included:
- New region: the land of the Druadach
- The area is said to be even larger than Solstheim, the DLC region from Dragonborn.
- New main quest
- Decisions will determine the course of the story
- You uncover the past of Lord Haelan’s family, the lords of Highreach
- You join the Imperial Legion or
- support the orcs of Garshaku
- More than 40 new quests
- Accessible in the new settlements and by exploring the world
- More than 50 new dungeons
- New weapons and armor
- Fully voiced NPCs (in English)
You can access the new content via Nexusmods. Instructions on how to get the mod up and running are provided on the website.
To get to the new area, you must visit either Solitude or Whiterun in Skyrim. There you will find a shady Khajiit looking for interested adventurers. He wants to get to the bottom of the rumors about the opening of the tunnels to Druadach Valley.
You can then enter the valley via the tunnel in Mor Khazgur or the imperial entrance in the northwest of Solitude. Your decision here only affects which quest line you start with. However, you can still change your mind about which faction you want to join.
