If you liked the free game last week, you can now get the sequel.
Last week you were able to get Figment from the free games in the Epic Games Store. The sequel Figment 2: Creed Valley is now available for free. Epic is also giving away Sky Racket, which combines the two retro genres of Shoot’em’Up and Brick Breaker.
Figment 2: Creed Valley
Genre: Action-Adventure – Developer:Bedtime Digital Games – Release: March 9, 2023
As in its predecessor, you as Dusty the cat enter deep into the human mind. The world of thoughts around you is once again haunted by nightmares, which you must fight as courage personified.
The nightmares have destroyed the compass of morality, which is why Dusty and his feathered companion Piper must travel to the eponymous Valley of Conviction to restore the ideals of sanity.
Music once again plays a major role in the surreal game world; bridges, trees and all the characters you meet make sounds and thus form the melody of the mind.
New is the ability to change the appearance of the game world by switching between two states . The back and forth between open-minded and narrow-minded is not just a visual gimmick, but a gameplay element that you have to use correctly in order to progress.
To this end, you can expect battles with the sword against the manifesting nightmares, including some boss fights. The puzzles from the predecessor are also back.
The companion mode allows Piper to be controlled by another player, making Figment 2 playable in co-op .
The average rating on Metacrtic is 76 for the PC version. On Steam the user reviews are 94 percent positive.
Sky Racket
The game takes the two arcade genres Shoot’em’Up and Brick Breaker and turns them into one game. As is typical in the former, you fly from left to right on the screen in this sidescroller and have to deal with enemies, obstacles and bosses.
But you can’t shoot yourself. You have to hit back the enemies’ projectiles by pressing a button and can only cause damage this way. Incidentally, the whole thing can also be played in co-op.
The second game is aimed at fans of the pixel look and arcade machines and is of course only for you if you have a soft spot for retro games. Figment 2 is a thoroughly emotional exploration of the human mind. The targeted use of music in games should also be important to you.
As always, you have exactly one week, i.e. until July 17, 2025 at 5 p.m., to get the game for free in the Epic Game Store
