Video game adaptations of well-known superheroes have enjoyed great popularity for years. Now an iconic Marvel hero will get his own third-person game. EA confirms work on a AAA game Black Panther single-player game.
Black Panther is being described as a “story-driven third-person action-adventure” and will focus entirely on single-player. Players will take on the role of Wakanda’s protector, the Black Panther. Although the publisher has not yet revealed any further details, the game promises a gripping gaming experience.
The developer studio responsible, Cliffhanger Games, is headed by Kevin Stephens, the former studio boss of Monolith Productions. Monolith Productions is known for titles such as No One Lives Forever, F.E.A.R. and Middle-earth: Mordor’s Shadow. Stephens is looking to break new ground with Cliffhanger Games, while his former employer is also currently working on a superhero licensed game, Wonder Woman.

In a press release, Stephens expressed, “Our goal is to create a large and reactive world where players can experience what it’s like to take up the mantle of Wakanda’s protector, Black Panther.” The studio has other talented developers on board who have previously worked on successful games such as the Monolith productions, God of War and the Call of Duty series.h
There were rumours of a new Black Panther game as early as last year, and now it’s finally official. Marvel and a new EA studio, Cliffhanger Games, are working together on a Black Panther single player title. Although Marvel has yet to announce any specific details, players can look forward to a single-player title with a third-person perspective and a focus on story. Marvel aims to provide fans with an authentic Black Panther experience, giving them more freedom of choice and control over the storyline than ever before in a story-based video game.
