Crimson Desert is currently more eagerly awaited than almost any other game – except perhaps GTA and Elder Scrolls. As the developers recently revealed, the Korean action-adventure game is already on the virtual wish lists of over 3 million players. Many are expecting the next huge open-world hit.
The game is set to launch worldwide on March 19. Not with different release dates for each time zone, but everywhere at exactly the same time. In this overview, we’ll tell you why you’ll have to stay up later and whether you can download Crimson Desert in advance.

When will Crimson Desert launch?
According to developer Pearl Abyss, Crimson Desert will launch worldwide on March 19 at 10:00 p.m. UTC. This coordinated standard time coincides with the British time zone and is one hour ahead of Central European Winter Time.
This means that Crimson Desert will be playable in Germany from 11:00 p.m. on March 19. So if you want to get started right at launch, you should be prepared for a long night. For other time zones, this launch date means:
- US West Coast: March 19, 2:00 p.m.
- US East Coast: March 19, 5:00 p.m.
- United Kingdom: March 19, 10:00 p.m.
- China: March 20, 6:00 a.m.
- Japan & Korea: March 20, 7:00 a.m.
- New Zealand: March 20, 11:00 a.m.
Is there early access? There is no early or advanced access model for Crimson Desert. Purchasers of all editions will start at the same time.
What is known about preloading?
The option to preload Crimson Desert so you can start playing right away has only been confirmed for PlayStation 5 so far.
According to the PlayStation Store, preloading will be available starting March 17. Based on past launches, we estimate that you will be able to start downloading exactly 48 hours before release – that is, at 11:00 p.m. German time on March 17.
Exact preload times are not yet known for the Steam and Xbox versions of Crimson Desert.
However, these usually follow the same pattern as the times on PlayStation. Here, too, you will probably be able to start the download 48 hours before launch.
