Nearly 200 games from development studios in 41 countries will be featured at what is arguably the most beautiful booth at gamescom. Here’s what you can look forward to.
Many of you are self-proclaimed indie fans, and most of us here on the editorial team also have a soft spot for independent niche art. That’s why every year we eagerly look forward to the Indie Arena Booth at gamescom, the biggest event for indie games from around the world.
It’s not just visitors to the Cologne trade show who benefit from the Indie Arena Booth. Many indie studios are saving exciting announcements for this time of year, so we’re also hoping for release dates, DLCs, and more.
The lineup for 2026 has now been announced. And it looks exciting, not just because of Stronghold 4. We’ll give you an overview. Here’s a trailer to get you in the mood:
What does the Indie Arena Booth have to offer?
Here’s a selection of potential highlights you shouldn’t miss:
- Stronghold 4: A highly anticipated strategy game for many of you, set to release in 2026.
- Neon Abyss 2: The sequel to a popular indie action hit with a garish, punk-inspired aesthetic.
- The 9th Dragon: Basically John Wick with a voxel aesthetic, featuring brutal close-quarters combat and shootouts.
- Moonlighter 2: A pretty popular mix of RPG and shop sim that’s likely to mark the end of its Early Access run.
- Crowded: City-building, but with crows instead of people. Reminds us ofTimberborn.
You can find the complete lineup overview at official websiteof the Indie Arena Booth.
You can also find an official curator page on Steam, which also lists the indie games featured in recent years. For example, you can filter by which ones are currently on sale or have the best ratings.
