Need for Speed Unbound is currently available with a 50 percent discount on Steam and in the EA shop. But fans of arcade racers have to get their hands on it very quickly.

Forspoken costs 80 euros, Electronic Arts wants 60 flakes for the Dead Space remake – video games have become bloody expensive!

So it”s all the nicer when, with a little patience, you can bag really big discounts and save big. This is currently the case with Need for Speed Unbound, which is available on Steam and in the EA shop for 35 Euros less than two months after release.

So you can get one of the best NfS games of the last few years for 50 percent less – why this is worth it and until when you can grab it, you can read below. For those who want to start driving immediately after buying the game.

Why is NfS Unbound worth it?

The Steam and EA discount for Need for Speed Unbound of 50 percent is the ideal opportunity for former NfS players and fans of arcade racing games to give Electronic Arts latest racer a chance after all. It”s worth it for several reasons:

  • The opponent AI: The familiar NfS rubber band is gone! In races you can actually outrun your opponents, they don”t just catch up just before the finish. In fact, the difficulty level is surprisingly high for an NfS, especially at the beginning – and that”s a welcome change from the series history!
  • Driving: You can adjust your cars to your liking – do you want them to drift more around corners, or do you prefer them to stay on track at high speed? Over time, you can even upgrade junk cars to become horsepower slingers. The great feeling of speed provides a real rush, especially from the bonnet and bumper perspective.
  • The “Car Culture”: The non-turn-off comic effects in Unbound were a hotly debated topic at release, but in our opinion they fit the general style of the game very well. With numerous options to customise your vehicle, the game is in the same vein as NfS Underground and Most Wanted. Great: There are over 140 cars available.
  • The Open World: This one”s a moot point, but Unbound”s game world has a surprising amount to offer if you”re conscientious about all the activities and side quests in the new NfS. Thanks to snazzy graphics, the environment looks great and the road course soon becomes engraved in your memory!

If you want to check out how the PC version of Need for Speed Unbound runs and looks before you buy, take a look at our uncommented gameplay video:

Admittedly, it”s not all sunshine and roses: On Steam and also in our review, there”s quite a bit of criticism of the game. Among other things, we criticised the annoying police chases, not all players like the driving model and there are grinds in the gameplay at times.

How long is the offer valid?

Need for Speed Unbound is 50% off (on Steam) until February 2, 2023 only. Alternatively, you can buy it (via the EA app) for the same price of 35 euros.

Have you already bought it or have you been playing Need for Speed Unbound since its release? How do you like it? Feel free to write us your opinion in the comments.
