Since the release of Battlefield 6, the challenges have been the subject of massive criticism. After recently fixing a few bugs, the developers have now also reduced the difficulty of the missions.
When Battlefield 6 was released, many players reacted with a mixture of disbelief, horror, and amusement to the challenges used to unlock weapons, gadgets, and skins in the shooter. Some of them were so absurdly difficult that fans came up with tricks and resorted to bot servers to complete them in a reasonably short time.
The developers quickly promised changes, and now they’re here: a server-side update has been rolled out, simplifying over 90 challenges. We’ll show you the most important changes.
Progress will now be so much easier
Detailed patch notes for the update are not yet available, but a post on Twitter that lists some of the new features. We also took a look ourselves to see what has changed. In fact, the update significantly reduces some challenges:
— Battlefield Comms (@BattlefieldComm) November 5, 2025
Class Challenges:
- Assault 1: Kills while under the influence of the Adrenaline Injector – reduced from 30 to 3
- Supply 2: Revives as a Supporter – reduced from 300 to 60
Weapon Challenges:
- Rapid Fire 1: Kills with assault rifles – reduced from 300 to 30
- Bullet Storm 1: Suppress enemy units with LMGs – reduced from 300 to 10
- Bullet Storm 1: Deal hip-fire damage with LMGs – reduced from 10,000 to 3,000
Other Challenges:
- Most challenges related to playing specific modes have been reduced to 2 wins in the corresponding mode.
- Explosives Expertise 2: Multikills with explosives – reduced from 20 to 5
- Adaptable 2: Repair damaged vehicles in one life – reduced from 3,000 points to 500
As you can see, the adjustments to the challenges are extreme: in many cases, only a small fraction of the original unlock conditions are now required. In this update, the developers have focused primarily on the challenges that unlock weapons and gadgets and are actually important to gameplay.
However, it has already been announced that this update was not the last and that more challenges will be revised in the future. The most frustrating challenges, such as the 300 LMG takedowns or 30 adrenaline kills, have now been removed. For some players, such as my unfortunate colleague Natalie, this comes too late. They have already struggled through the challenges.
One last note before you go: your previous progress in the challenges has been retained, and in some cases, this may mean that they have now been completed due to the update. So you may now have a lot of new weapons, gadgets, and skins at your disposal. Take a look at your equipment menu and see if you can find any new toys!
