Just one week after the release of Battlefield 6, developer DICE has apparently come to its senses and promised to revamp the progression system. However, there is already good news regarding Conquest tickets.

Battlefield 6 has been out for about a week now, and hundreds of thousands of players have already enthusiastically thrown themselves into the virtual battlefields. But despite all the excitement about the long-serving shooter series finally being back, one central point of criticism quickly emerged in the community: the agonizingly slow progression system.

Anyone who wanted to unlock new gadgets or even just the first useful weapon attachments had to be patient. But just one week after the launch, developer DICE is now responding to the massive feedback and announcing far-reaching changes. We have the details.

Significantly less grind

In a community update on Reddit, the developers have now directly addressed this pain point for the community and admitted that the unlocks still feel too tough. To make the gaming experience more rewarding, specific adjustments are planned, which are set to go live within the next week:

  • More XP: The experience points for completing a match will be increased by 10 percent, and the daily bonus by a whopping 40 percent.
  • Faster attachments: The XP required for the first 20 ranks of a weapon attachment will be drastically reduced. This should allow you to unlock the first important attachments almost twice as fast.
  • Lower hurdles: The assignments that previously required career ranks 20, 23, and 26 are now reduced to ranks 10, 15, and 20. This will allow you to start these challenges earlier.

At the same time, the developers want to put a stop to the activity on the so-called XP farm servers in Portal mode. Since the pure bot servers make it difficult to find real community games, adjustments are being made to make farming less attractive.

In the comments below the Reddit post, the developers’ swift response has been well received. For many players, faster progression is a first step in the right direction.

Conquest: Longer matches are back

There is more good news for fans of Conquest mode— and this change is already active: The recently reduced number of starting tickets has been reversed. All maps now start with the original 1,000 tickets per team and a round time of 45 minutes.

The aim is to enable longer and more epic battles on large maps such as Mirak Valley and Operation Firestorm. The joy about this is great, as a glance at the comments under the corresponding Reddit thread shows: “Thank God. They should never have touched that,” writes one user, for example.

The developers emphasize that this is only the beginning and that they are aware of feedback on other issues such as weapon bloom, poor visibility, and vehicles on screen. These aspects will also be addressed in future updates. However, there is no concrete schedule for the patches yet.
