Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is coming out on July 9. We’ll let you know when the preload starts, when our review will be published, and when you can start playing for yourself.

This week is the big day:After 13 years, pirate captain Edward Kenway sets sail once again. WithAssassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced, Ubisoft is re-releasing what is arguably the most popular installment of its successful Assassin’s Creed series among fans. To make sure you’re fully prepared for the re-release of this pirate adventure, we’ll reveal the most important key dates for the launch of Black Flag Resynced in this article.

When is Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced coming out?

It’s been known for quite some time that Edward Kenway will set sail again on July 9. Now Ubisoft has also released a map showing the specific release times for different time zones around the world. According to this map, Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resyncedwill launch on consoles significantly earlierthan on PC.

  • On PC(Steam, Uplay, Epic), Black Flag Resyncedwill be released on July 9 at 4:00 p.m.German time.
  • On consoles, Black Flag Resynced will be released on July 9 at 12:00 a.m. (midnight) German time.

    When does the preload start?

To make sure you can set sail right on time when the game launches, the Black Flag remake also offers a pre-download option. Pre-loading has already been available on Xbox Series consoles for a few days, but it hasn’t started yet on PlayStation 5 or PC. Here’s an overview of the pre-load dates:

    • Xbox Series: Preload has been available since June 22.
    • PlayStation 5:Preload starts on July 7 at 12:00 a.m. German time.
    • PC(Uplay, Steam, Epic): Preloading starts on July 7 at 4:00 p.m. German time.

On both PlayStation and PC, you’ll have exactly 48 hours to download the game before its release. By the way, the file size is quite similar across all three platforms; on PlayStation you’ll need 62 gigabytes, on Xbox Series 64 gigabytes, and on PC about 63 gigabytes of free hard drive space. The original Black Flag only required about 30 gigabytes on PC back then.

When will our review of Black Flag Resynced be published?

Now let’s get to the most important question: When can you expect our review of the Black Flag remake? Because even thoughit was already clear from our colleague Dimi’s preview that series fans can pretty much jump right in without hesitation, we naturally want to offer you the best possible buying advice for the launch of this new Ubisoft title.

The fact that the embargo on reviews is so close to the release date is not a decision on our part, but a requirement set by publisher Ubisoft. You can find more news about Black Flag Resynced and our colleague Kevin’s first impressions in the link box above. In his preview, he reveals how this remastered version of the fourth Assassin’s Creed aims to differ from the original. You’ll find out whether it lives up to expectations in the full review on July 9.
